This website is maintained by Lise Morel. Lise has been living in Scotland since the early 90's. She loves anything to do with French language and culture and has been running the very successful French meetup group in Edinburgh since 2006. Prior to that, she's been involved in a franco-scottish group in Aberdeen running Froggies, a monthly party aimed at French speakers from all horizons.
Lise is also a creative translator, involved in website localization and the audiovisual industry. She's a subtitler and she has been working on many different projects, from documentaries to short fiction films, and more recently with the French Film Festival UK.
For people who want to improve on their French language skills, Lise offers a range of classes allowing people to learn through all sorts of media, gaining confidence as well as competence in their use of the French language.
More recently, she has turned her attention to the issue of bilingual children following her own experience with her now teenage son. Le Petit Club was born in 2013 to provide creative workshops for children aged 2-10 entirely conducted in French. This new venture is still very much in its infancy, but it has proven very valuable, with great improvement noted for children who attend regularly.
